Me pasaba porque el fichero style.css del tema no tenía especificada la cabecera:

Según otros usuarios también se puede resolver activando otro tema y volviendo a activar el tema original aunque a mí no me funcionó. En mi caso, al cambiar el tema me daba un internal server error.
